

Lenka Hajgajda is co-founder and director of the Association of Gene Therapy. Since 2018, this non-profit organization has been primarily involved in supporting basic research of the Czech Center for Phenogenomics focusing on the treatment of rare diseases. This association initiated the basic research on Angelman syndrome and is raising funds for it through fundraising. With its support, Czech scientists have already discovered a model for a cure for this rare genetic disease that causes mental retardation, impaired motor skills, absence of speech, difficulties with coordination and stability.
