In the days 12. -The 3rd Annual Conference of the National Institute for Neurological Research was held in the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Brno, Czech Republic, on June 13, 2025 with international participation. Over the course of two days, top neurology experts, researchers and clinicians gathered to share the latest findings in neurodegenerative diseases and discuss innovations in therapy and research in English.
After the introductory lecture by Mgr. Bc. Michal Koščík Ph.D., the discussion about the rising costs of treatment and the importance of prevention of neurological diseases for the working population started.
MUDr. Jana Haberlová continued with the topic “Innovative therapy – two sides of the same coin”, where she presented successful examples from the therapeutic practice of pediatric patients. In this context, mention was made of the NESPI initiative (National Expert Group for Innovative Treatment of Neurological Diseases), which aims to link the clinical, research and governmental spheres with the needs of patients and their representatives.
Irena Rektorová talked about neurodegenerative dementia and invited the conference participants to the educational course “Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and other brain neurodegenerations”, which will be held on 25-26 September 2025 in Brno. Link to the event HERE
The participants were also interested in Viktor Jirsa’s lecture on modelling brain functions. Other topics of this year’s conference in Brno included: mobility disorders, demyelinating diseases, epilepsy and neurodegeneration. Friday’s programme included an expert programme for research centres.
We thank all participants, speakers and partners for inspiring lectures and pleasant atmosphere. The event was held under the auspices of the Neurological Clinic of the St. Anne’s University Hospital and the Czech Neurological Society.
